Mrs. Carol Hissom Ross, 68, of 7119 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville, formerly of Ripley, died Sept. 30, 1987, at home after a long illness.

She attended Hissom Tabernacle and was a member of the Old Timers Club in Ravenswood. She had lived in Sissonville for six years.

Surviving: husband, Bennie Burton Ross; daughters, Mrs. Greta Mae Thornton of Hometown, Mrs. Jo Ann Meeks of Winfield, Mrs. Carol Roxielana Hicks of Ripley; son, Bennie Burton Jr. of Sissonville; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cash and Mrs. Roxie Hamer, of Charleston, Mrs. Mary Graham of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Betty Atkins of Campbells Creek; brothers, Earl Hissom Jr. and Albert Hissom, both of Charleston, George Hissom of Hometown, Ernest Hissom of Edens Fork; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home, Charleston, with Bea Burgess officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Garden, Pocatalico. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
