Rev. Thomas Laughton Andrews Jr was a son, a husband, a father and a grandfather. On March 12, 1932 he was born to T. L. Andrews, Sr. and Mary Diaz Andrews in Tampa, FL. When he was 15 his family moved to Wellborn. In 1954 he joined the Navy where he served during the Korean War. On May 15, 1955 he married Patricia Poucher and they remained together until her passing 47 years later on October 2, 2002. After leaving the Navy he spent his professional life working in the building industry. First with his family and later branching out on his own. He eventually retired from the Suwannee County Building Department where he served as a Building Inspector for more than 10 years. From the early 1970's he was active in his local church. He served as a deacon at Wellborn Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed serving as a supply speaker for churches in the Suwannee Baptist Association and would eventually pastor his own congregation at Pine Mount Baptist Church in McAlpin. Tommy's life journey came to a close in Jacksonville; residing for several years with his son's family before moving to Arbor Terrace for hospice care. His struggle with dementia ended on March 30, 2016. He was 84 years old. He is survived by his son Tom Andrews (Shari) of Jacksonville, daughters Micki Roberts (Dennis) of Wellborn and Teresa Greek of Lake City. Grandchildren Nick Roberts (Laura), Shawna Roberts, Lucy Andrews and Libby Andrews. Great-grandchildren Hannah Roberts and Asher Roberts.
