MRS. EMMA ATKINS
Mrs. Emma Martin Atkins, 91, Fieldale, died early Tuesday in Martinsville General Hospital, several hours after being taken suddenly ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. D. Martin, North Chestnut Street, Fieldale, with whom she had resided.
She leaves three other daughters, Mrs. Tom Mills, Bassett; Mrs. Minnie Custer, Baltimore, Md.; and Mrs. Molly Watson of Spray, N.C.; two brothers, Joe Martin, Burlington, N.C.; and Hughes Martin, Leaksville, N.C,; and 22 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fieldale Methodist Church by Rev. R. HH. Mann. Burial followed in the Martin family cemetery, near Patrick Springs.
