Ephraim — Mrs. Dorothea Albertson, early settler of Gibraltar township, died last week Wednesday at the home of her son Andrew after a short illness.
Mrs. Albertson, whose maiden name was Jensen, was born November 23, 1856, at Saabe, Denmark, and came to this country in 1875. The early part of the following year she settled in Gibraltar where she was married October 5, 1877, to Soren Albertson who died seven years ago. She became a member of the Bethania Lutheran church here in 1882 during the first years of its organization and was an active member until her last illness.
Surviving are nine children: Mrs. Fred Roggendorf of Rapid River, Michigan Mrs. Oscar Norton, of Oshkosh; Alex, of Ellison Bay; Peter of Ladysmith, Wisconsin; Walter of Hermansville, Michigan; Mrs. Arthur Schuyler, of East Chicago, Indiana; Andrew, of Fish Creek; Mrs. Edward Zak, of Milwaukee; and Mrs. Peter Stenlund of Ensign, Michigan. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and one brother, Christian Johnson of Baileys Harbor.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock from the home and at two o'clock from the Bethania Lutheran church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Walter M. Abramson, pastor and a candidate of theology, and the Rev. C. O. Anderson, pastor of the Norwegian Lutheran church at Ellison Bay, officiated. Pallbearers were Lincoln and Orrin Malmor, Edgar and Elmer Goodlet, Sander and Christian Christenson. A trio consisting of Sam and Herman Hogenson and Everett Valentine sang two numbers.
