Alvin Blain Hunter, 91, of Miami, OK went to be with his Lord Saturday Morning October 3, 2020. He died at home with family members present.

Alvin was born March 4, 1929 in Fairland, OK to Bob and Myrtle Hunter.

After completing eighth grade, Alvin worked on the family farm. In 1948, Alvin married LaUna Faun L’Roy of Fairland, OK at the Church of Christ in Miami, OK. They were married 68 years.

Alvin worked for George Coleman on the Coleman Ranch before getting hired by B.F. Goodrich. He worked for Goodrich 25 years until a back injury forced his early retirement. Alvin also co – owned Hunter Brothers Custom Horse Trailers.

Alvin was a kind, funny, honest and hardworking family man. He was always helping neighbors and friends with chores and projects. His skills were endless: auto mechanics, welding, construction, furniture and cabinet making, electrical and small appliance repair. His favorite was building small models of stage coaches, buggies and wagons. Other hobbies were fishing and collecting vintage model cars.

Alvin was preceded in death by his wife Faun, his parents and all eight of his siblings, brother – in – laws and sister – in – laws, a niece and two sons – in law.

Alvin is survived by three daughters Connie Brewster of Miami, OK, Darlita and husband Steve Klemm of Nashville, TN and Kathy Moudy and fiancé Sam VanHoose of Miami, OK, additional survivors include six grandchildren, Wayne and Kevin Brewster of Spring Branch, TX, Mark Moudy of Joplin, MO, Kurt Moudy of Miami, OK, Stacey Pickering and Jennifer Denton of Nashville, TN and sixteen great grandchildren and one more due in May 2021.

Graveside services are planned for the immediate family to be followed by a memorial service at a later date to be announced. Burial will be at the Fairland Cemetery next to his beloved wife. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
