Ugo Abelli, 87, of Natick and formerly of Framingham, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Secondo and Marcella (Vicini) Abelli. Mr. Abelli was employed at the former General Motors Plant in Framingham for many years. He loved all the Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox, and playing bocci at Columbus Hall in Framingham. He graduated from Framingham High School in 1941 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, in which he had many interesting experiences and told many stories of the war. He is survived by his children, Kevin Cyr of Groton, Conn., Debbie Bibbo of Framingham, Susan Lamont of Framingham, Donna Abelli of Easton, Louis Reimer of St. Petersburg, Fla., Lorraine Bridges of Roxboro, N.C.,Carolyn Robbins of Candia, N.H.; a sister, Anna Chouinard of Framingham; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loving nieces and nephews. He was the longtime companion of the late Pauline Cyr, father of the late Richard Abelli, brother of the late Louis Abelli and Theresa Macora. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 9 a.m., at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Church. Visiting hours are Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. Internment is in St. Patrick's Cemetery. A special thanks from Ugo's family to the Carlyle House in Framingham for their good care of him.
