Lexington, KY – Pastor Hubert Wilson Baker, 89, formerly of Booneville, KY, husband of Reba Katherine Wilson Baker, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Veterans Medical Center, Lexington, KY. Rev. Baker was born in Booneville, KY, on January 11, 1918 to the late James W. and Ada Bowman Baker. He was a U. S. Army Veteran having served in WW II, and former Chaplain of the DAV Post # 1 in Lexington, KY. He was also a retired Baptist Minister, and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Lexington, KY. Along with his wife of 62 years, he is survived by two daughters, Ada Marie Wilson (& David) Willey of Middletown, OH and Barbara Alaine (& Alex) Hensley of Caraguatatuba, Brazil; three grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson, Bryan K. Hensley and Mary K. Quaresma; three step-grandchildren, Glen and Duane Willey and Paula Burch; five step-great grandchildren; a step-great, great granddaughter, and a host of relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Dawn Wilson. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at the Booneville Funeral Home with Jack Creditt officiating. Visitation was held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial in Shepherd Memorial Cemetery, Booneville, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Booneville Sentinel February 22, 2007.
