A native of Christiana, Tenn., Arnold had lived in Nashville about 60 years. He was employed 50 years by Gray & Dudley Foundry. He retired in 1952.
Arnold married the former Mattie Williamson in 1908. She survives.
He was a member of Woodbine Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also a Modern Woodman.
Other survivors include four daughters, Miss Thelma Arnold, Mrs. Fred Ramsey, Mrs. James W. Brooks and Mrs. Charles Ellis, all of Nashville; two sons, John T. Arnold, Nashville, and William C. Arnold Jr., Amelia, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Aubrey Tucker and Mrs. Lesca Miller; eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.
