Mable McGaha Haynes, age 92, formerly of Newport, died April 12, 2013, in Marietta, Georgia.

Mrs. Haynes was the daughter of Sophronia Harrell and John McGaha. Her stepfather was Press Valentine. She was born on Cosby where the National Park is now located.

Mrs. Haynes served as Registrar of Deeds for Cocke County in the 1960's.

Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her brother, John T. McGaha, and her sister, Dorothy Valentine.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Valentine Catron of Tupelo, Mississippi;

her sons James Ronald Haynes (Tina) of Murfreesboro; and John Harrell Haynes (Carol) of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren Kathy Haynes Reagan (Mark) of Gatlinburg; Ron Haynes of Chicago; Anna Haynes Green (Tracy) of Atlanta; and Clif Haynes of Knoxville; great-grandchildren Kaitlin and Dillon Reagan of Gatlinburg; along with several nieces and one nephew.

A memorial service will be held at Brown Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. preceding that service.
