Doris Jean Blumer passed away peacefully at home in Ellisville, Missouri on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. She was born in McKittrick, Missouri on April 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Donald T. and Blanche (Norman) Brashear. Her sister, Norma Tugel preceded her in death.
Beloved wife of 69 years to Carroll G. Blumer (Dick), loving mother to Linda (Ed) Bruer and Lisa Blumer. Cherished grandmother of Everett and Matthew Bruer. Dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Doris graduated from Hermann High School and worked for the Maritz Corporation in the Quality Control Division. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood as a Sunday School Teacher, served as a Girl Scout Leader, and beginning in 2003 became an active member of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Ballwin. She was a long-time member of the Eastern Star, Riverview Chapter. Of most importance to Doris was her family, she was also an accomplished musician and seamstress.
Services: Memorial service at the Schrader Funeral Home, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. immediately preceding the service. Interment St. John’s UCC Cemetery, Berger, MO at 1:45 p.m.
In keeping with COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required.
