Robert "Bob" Sherwood Allred passed away on September 26, 2020 at the age of 93. He was born in Guilford County on May 20, 1927 to the late James and Myrtle Allred. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bob graduated from High Point College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He worked for Myrtle Desk Company for 37 years as an accountant. Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church of High Point where he sang in the church choir. He also enjoyed listening to classical music as well as singing. Bob loved watching sports, especially his beloved UNC Tarheels. He cherished spending time at his home on High Rock Lake where he would relax and unwind. His family and friends will miss his sense of humor and infectious laugh. Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife Henrietta, and brother, Jim Allred. He leaves behind his sons, Robert Allred and wife, Cindy, of Jamestown and Perry Allred and wife, Patsy, of High Point; grandchildren, Trent (Shahara) Kennedy, Kristen (Phillip) Ballard, Kristen (Brad) Coleman, and Dereck Allred; great grandchildren, Trenton Kennedy, Jordan Ballard, Storie Ballard, Noah Ballard, Luke Coleman, Blakely Coleman, and soon to be with us, Brooke Coleman; and many other family members, neighbors, and friends. A visitation will be on Thursday, October 1st from 11am to noon at Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point. A graveside service will be held on the same day at 2pm at Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery with Chaplin Roland Cavanaugh officiating. The family would like to say a special thanks to Comfort Keepers and Hospice Home at High Point for their compassion and care with Bob. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice Home at High Point.
