Jean was a daughter of Lydia and A.W. (Tony) Kestler. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Port Arthur College. She was a member of Calder Baptist Church and retired from the United States Social Security Administration in 1990.
Her passing was preceded by her parents; her husband, George L. Durham; and her son, David Durham. Her survivors are her brother, Jack Hestler; sister, Nellie Goodwin; sister-in-law, Alice Nell Ashy; and three grandchildren.
