Jessie was a longstanding member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church where she shared her love of music as she sang in the church choir. Jessie had a beautiful voice and she frequently sang southern gospel songs to her children and grandchildren and left us all with the fond memories of her voice and laughter. Jessie was deeply loved by family and friends. She had an ability to make an everlasting impression on the people who met her. She made everyone she met feel comfortable and loved in her presence as she had an incredible sense of humor. Jessie was a firm believer in human rights and volunteered with Planned Parenthood.
Although Jessie lived in Florida, California, Hawaii, Illinois, and Wisconsin she maintained a strong love for her southern heritage. Many friends were treated to her wonderful gourmet cooking and Southern hospitality. She traveled hundreds of miles for many years when her children were small so they could see their grandparents and get a taste of her southern roots. She loved the trips to the beach where she stood guard over her children.
