Ora Virginia “Ginny” Collins, 96, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at National Health Care of Anderson, South Carolina. Born in Greenville, South Carolina, on February 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Elijah J. and Manervay Jane Higginbotham Collins.

Ginny is survived by two nieces: Jenny (Charles) Van De Vere of Santa Rosa, CA, and Royce (Jim) Thomas of Anderson, SC; a nephew, Dean (Barbara) Collins of Anderson, SC; and long-time friend and mentor, Sister Ruth (Gene) Ebright of Mishawaka, Indiana. Ginny was preceded in death by her best friend and sister in Christ for 55 years, Eileen (Sparks) Hofmann as well as Rev. Gene Ebright, long-time pastor of First Apostolic Church in Mishawaka, IN. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Eula Collins Mullinax, Clara Collins, Lila Collins Ingle, and Rosena Collins; and a brother, Roy Collins.

In 1956, Ginny moved from Greenville, South Carolina, to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was employed by Ball Crank until it was bought out by Wheelabrator-Frye. In 1965, she moved to South Bend, Indiana, where she worked until she retired in 1978.

Ginny was a faithful member of First Apostolic Church in Mishawaka, Indiana for nearly 60 years.

Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Nicholas DeCicco at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in the mausoleum chapel at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.

A memorial service will be held in South Carolina on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 3:00pm at Crosswell Apostolic Church, 122 Latham Street, Easley, SC, where Rev. Ann Smith will officiate.
