Betty was a through and through people person and spent many years as a waitress in the food service industry. She started off her career at the Howard Johnson’s North Midway Bedford, Pennsylvania location. Later on, she spent many years waitressing in Breezewood, Pennsylvania at the 76 Truck Stop, as well as, at the Landmark Restaurant, Hoss’s and Denny’s restaurants of Bedford. She always had a knack for not only remembering a customer’s orders to a “T”, but also customer’s names and personal details. This ability aided her in creating a special rapport and exceptional quality of service with everyone that she waited on. Despite working full-time, she managed to be a full-time mom raising four children.
Betty was of the Protestant faith and attended the Liberty Independent Baptist Church located just outside Everett, Pennsylvania along Route 30. Her faith showed in her unconditional love and acceptance of people no matter who you were or where you were at in life. She always found the good in everyone when you were around her.
