Pug was a truck driver and was also employed by the City of Waurika, working for the water department until his retirement. He also carried the Duncan Banner for 18 years. He and Agnes Pealor Collins were married Aug. 14, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes of the home in Waurika; three sons, John, Jeff, and Jimmy Dean, all of Wichita Falls, Texas; two stepsons, Kim Collins of Ardmore, and Bill Collins of Ringgold, Texas; one daughter, Leanita; two brothers, Billy Bob "Rusty" and his wife Juanita Dean of Waurika, and James and his wife Mo Dean of Ft. Cobb; three sisters, Betty June Hoglan of Copperas Cove, Texas, Roberta and her husband Phil Bush of Waurika, and Virginia and her husband Ruben Mora of Waurika; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two aunts, Letha Sumpter and Claudia Guy, both of Waurika; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services for Mr. Dean were at 2 p.m. Wed., March 16, at the Waurika United Methodist Church, with Noel Curington officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
