John Mark Wilkerson was born January 16,1930 in Hammond, Indiana to parents, Rev. James A. Wilkerson and Lorna Maxine Wilkerson. At age 3, John moved to Mansfield, Ohio when his Father was invited to pastor the Assemblies of God Church in Mansfield. John left home as a teenager to attend Southwestern Bible School in Waxahachie, Texas. His association with upper classmen helped John to engage in ministry quickly. His striking good looks, friendly personality, and ability to sing and play the guitar opened many doors for John to participate in various student groups. Together, they ministered to numerous churches and represented the school in various venues. John married the love of his life, beautiful Bonnie Holloway, in 1950 at her father's church in Cleveland, Ohio. Together they travelled in ministry, John preaching and Bonnie playing the piano. He later became the Youth Director of the entire South Florida District. His ministry carried him around the world. His love for youth and missions drove him to fulfill God's call on his life. Over the years, John and Bonnie pastored churches in various cities: W. Palm Beach, FL, Jacksonville, FL, Nassau, Bahamas, Lake Worth, FL, Kenosha, WI, Minneapolis, MN, Pacific Grove, CA, Ft. Worth, TX, and Associate Pastor in Miami, Fla. John also served on the board of Church Growth International with Dr. David Yonggi Cho for over 30 years.
