Willard Eugene Weider, of Freeburg, was born on November 17, 1944, near Dixon, in Maries County, a son of Lawrence Joseph and Agnes Jane (Thompson) Weider, and departed this life at 3:31 a.m., on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, in the Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. He had been in failing health for the past two years from lung cancer and had attained the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 6 days.

He was united in marriage on July 1, 1977, at Vienna, to the former Miss Leona Frances Holtmeyer.

Willard was a member of Carpenters Union 945 and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, scratch off lottery tickets, camping, and taking trips to Branson and Tennessee. During his working life, he had been employed by Carpenters 945, Jefferson City and St. Louis, in construction, and by Scholastic, Inc., Jefferson City, for five years prior to his failing health.

Those left to mourn the passing of Willard include: His wife of forty-three years, Leona Weider, of the home in Freeburg; his children, Linda Kay Anderson and husband, Troy, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, William Joseph Weider and wife, Robin, of Holts Summit, Lisa Ann Muniz and friend, Felipe, of Holts Summit, Richard Louis Weider of Freeburg, Tammy Sue Madlock of Jefferson City, Gerald Wayne Weider and wife, Gail, of Vienna, James Weider and wife, Lisa, of Argyle, Larry Weider and wife, Amy, of Dixon, and Pamela Kay Weider and friend, Patty Mahon, of Mexico; one brother, Walter Weider, and wife, Janet, of Vienna; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, with greats as well; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Pattie Marie Lutman, on March 2, 2018; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Holtmeyer in 1982, Kaitlyn Sueann Pruitt on September 20, 1990, and Matthew Jacob Louis Weider on August 3, 1993; his father, Lawrence, on January 15, 1998; his mother, Agnes, on May 13, 2003; one brother, Lawrence Roger Weider, on December 26, 2003; and two sisters, Judy Jane Eads on February 22, 1997, and Karen Kay McCormack on February 15, 2006.

The celebration of life for Mr. Willard E. Weider will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at the Freeburg Lion’s Field, Freeburg, Missouri 65035, with tributes and prayers by Jake Wegman and John Henry Kliendienst followed by a meal for all in attendance. Honorary pallbearers for Willard are Richard Weider, Gerald Weider, John Henry Kliendienst, Kevin Chambers, Larry Wiles, Mike Slone, Matt Reichel, and Chris Holtmeyer.

Funeral flowers and memorial tributes such as fresh flowers, plants, wreaths, statues or other items for the family may be delivered to Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 South Main Street, Vienna, Missouri 65582, for delivery to Lion’s Field prior to the celebration of life.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Willard E. Weider are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the celebration or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, Missouri 65582.

FOOTNOTE: Willard Eugene Weider was united in marriage to Donna Kay Waidelich on October 27, 1961. To this union, three children were born: James Willard Weider, Lawrence "Larry" Eugene Weider, and Pamela Kay Weider. For those who are genealogist, these three children were his biological children. Other children listed in obit are his stepchildren, but he loved and cared them as his own and they considered him as their dad.
