Wm. T. Jones
Wm. T. Jones was born in Stockton, Chautauqua, county, New York. Oct. 21, 1835. He was married to Emma C. Morris of Eldrer, McCane county [Eldred, McKean county], Pa, on Feb. 17, 1856. To them four children were born, Frank E. Jones of Dinuba, Calif. Mrs. C. H. McDuffie of Waverly, Wm. T. Jones who died in 1883, and Myrtle L. who died in infancy.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones moved to Ottawa, Kansas is September, 1872, and to Waverly in 1883. Here then they have since resided for the last five years in the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. McDuffie, who cared for them most tenderly in their declining years.
In his young manhood he was converted and united with the M. E. church, and was a faithful member until death, taking great interest and pleasure in the work and services of the church.
Since the death of Mrs. Jones last November, he felt that his work was done, and had been waiting for the coming of the boatman to carry him across the river to the eternal City, and when he came, he stepped in with out fear, but with a firm faith in Jesus Christ, whom he had so long known and loved.
He passed to rest Monday morning, March 26, being 81 years, 5 months and 5 days old. He rests from his labor.
