Arnold John Godfrey, 78, of Cabot, traded his earthly home for his Heavenly eternal home on September 20, 2020. He was born April 6, 1942 in Albany, New York to Charles Godfrey and Hazel Francis Godfrey- Short.

Arnold was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a kind, compassionate and selfless man of God. Arnold loved carpentry and was a very loving husband and father. He was a 40+ year member of First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock and a recent member of Cabot Apostolic Church in Cabot.

Bro. Arnold Godfrey received the Holy Ghost in 1971 at the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock, during a revival, held by Evangelist John Steven Hancock from California. He has served the Lord faithfully for forty-nine years, faithful to his God and his church.

Preceded in death by his wife Louise Miller-Godfrey; his parents Charles Godfrey and Hazel Godfrey-Short; brother Edward Godfrey; and grandsons Chase Herring and Eddie Norman.

He leaves behind his loving children Angela Godfrey, Sharon (Richard) Herring, Lynn Godfrey, and Edward Godfrey; grandchildren Krystal Godfrey Dickson, Amber (Chris) Willis, Cory Marino, Eddie Godfrey, Ashley (Borden) Moody, and Anna Reneau; nine great-grandchildren; siblings Lynnette Damino and Christiana Drobena; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to carry on and cherish his memory.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Kindred Hospice for their compassion and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 6pm- 8pm at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville. Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 at 10am at First Pentecostal Church, 1401 Calvary Rd, North Little Rock. Burial at Arkansas Memorial Gardens to follow.

In light of the current health concerns, Arnold’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the service. Please be aware, as per Arkansas directives, attendance will be regulated in accordance to Arkansas guidelines, all guests in attendance will be required wear masks/facial coverings and social distancing guidelines will be in place. For those unable to attend, virtual service will be available on A Natural State Funeral
