Marjorie Etheredge McElveen, age 95, of West Palm Beach passed away on July 6th. The daughter of George and Rose Brownlee Etheredge, Jackson, Georgia, Marjorie attended Georgia State College for Women and was a graduate of the Draughon School of Commerce in Atlanta, GA. She made her home in West Palm Beach, Florida for 70 years and was a member of the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the West Palm Beach Garden Club. After working for the Gunster Law Firm in Palm Beach, she became executive assistant to the Gunster family, a position she held for many years. For over 31 years, Marjorie volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital, both in the gift shop and on the fund-raising committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. (Mack) McElveen, and son, David Jay McElveen. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jane Weaver, and brother, Newt Etheredge. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Janet McElveen, grandchildren Rodney McElveen and Dana (Chris) Bates, and her great grandchildren, niece, nephews, great niece and nephews and their children. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, July 11th, at 11:00 AM, at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, West Palm Beach, Florida.
