William (Bill) Douglas Adams, 72, of Alpena, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord at 10:35 A.M., April 9, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born to Edwin and Leola (Forbes) Adams May 20, 1947 in Flint, MI. He grew up helping his parents run their family store in Ionia, MI before moving back to Flint where he graduated from Hamady High School in 1966. Bill was drafted into the Army in 1967 and served in Germany until his tour ended in 1969. He then joined his parents who had moved to their family property on Long Rapids Road, Alpena, MI. While in Alpena, Bill met the love of his life, Constance (Connie) Angalie Lewandowski, and they were married September 6, 1969.
Bill took a job with Besser Co. in 1969 and worked there doing several different positions until he retired as a high voltage electrician in 2007.
Bill made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1972. He consistently tried to live the rest of his life in such a way that people would see Christ's love through him, hoping to point those that he met along the way to Christ. He was a member of Northland Baptist Church in Ossineke, where he held several offices through the years (deacon, financial treasurer, head usher, etc.), since 1985.
Bill had many passions and hobbies, and felt that anything worth doing was worth doing well. He loved to hunt and fish; shoot on a pistol league; build and operate R.C. cars, planes, and boats; take his truck to car shows (he, with a lot of help from great friends, was currently working on a '51 Ford rebuild); but especially, he enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.
Bill was preceded in death by his father-in-law Otto Lewandowski, his father and mother, his adopted daughter Marie Lynn (Adams) Armon, and grandchild Katie Lee Rose Armon.
Bill is survived by his wife Connie, his mother-in-law Clara Lewandowski, his daughter Niki (John) Spears, his grandchildren Courtney (David) Knott, William and Parker Spears, Morgan and Matthew Armon, and his great-grandchildren Troy and Rielle Knott, along with several foster children.
