For two years, George Boehner, 1425 East Adams street, an ex-service man, suffered from tuberculosis contracted while fighting in France. And for two years he waited for the war risk bureau at Washington to adjust his claims for compensation in order that he might be able to secure better care and needed medical attention. He was without money and relatives did their best, although due to shortage of work in the mines, they could not care for him as he should have been cared for. At 3 o'clock this morning Boehner died. Eight hours later the government wired that his claim had been allowed.

For two years Boehner and the American Legion have been trying to get compensation from the government but the only word that came was "disability not the result of service." American Legion officials say it was. They have investigated the case from start to finish and find that Boehner contracted tuberculosis as a result of service. Without ever receiving a penny of compensation or aid from the government he died this morning.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Katie Boehner; one brother, Charles Boehner, and two sisters, Carrie Crim and Annie Howard. Funeral services will be held Wednesday.
