Florence Catherine Hodges was born May 25, 1921, in Bath PA, the daughter of James C. Seagraves and Amy E. Algert Seagraves. She died Aug. 30, 2007, at her home in Thayer, MO, at the age of 86.
She was united in marriage June 28, 1939, at Los Angeles, CA, to Hubert Fie Hodges, who preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1997.
She was a devoted homemaker, a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and reading western novels.
She is survived by seven children, Robert Hodges of Columbus, IN; Bonnie Scanlan of Yuma, AZ; Gary Hodges of Sun Valley NV; Cathy Dandurand of Long Beach, CA; Nancy Taylor of Alton, MO; Bill Hodges of Stanwood, WA; and Sondra Brewer of Thayer, MO; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one daughter, Eddie Seagraves of Modesto, CA; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fie Hodges; one step-son, Charles Hodges; four brothers, Donald Seagraves, Jimmy Seagraves, Art Seagraves and George Seagraves.
Funeral services were held Sept. 7 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer with Dee Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
