Born in Alexander County, IL. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank LeFever of Willow Hill. Two brothers, Ed and Andrew; three sisters, Katherine Best, Ruth Granby, Ada Grant and a half sister Ava Weaver. A son, Ronald Dean LeFever, died in infancy. Before his induction, he was employed in the electric shop of the Robinson Refinery. He had been married four years. Private LeFever had been in service a year and four days and had been in combat service for the past six months. Hw was first in the Sicily invasion, going from there to the Anzio beach head in Italy and fighting all the way up the Italian boot, through Rome and into the Po river basin.
