LINCOLN ---- Merle R. Hoagland, 56, of R. R. 2, Lincoln, died at 1 p.m. Monday at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

He was a partner in Hoagland Motors at Lincoln, and a veteran of World War II.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday and Holland and Barry Funeral Home, with burial in Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born in Lincoln, July 13, 1914, a son of Theodore and Leona Thompson Hoagland. He married Mable Holderer at Lincoln, Nov. 26. 1936.

She survives with a son, Les; three brothers, Rene Hoagland, Loren Hoagland, Lincoln; Glenn Hoagland, Peoria; two grandchildren.

Mr. Hoagland was a member of First Christian Church, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Elks lodge, Moose lodge, Eagles lodge and Odd Fellows lodge.
