She was born January 8, 1928 in Coventry, Vermont to the late Alphonse and Ida (LaRose) Croteau.
Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband, Floyd Abrams, Sr., in 1982. In addition, she was also predeceased by her loving five siblings.
Doris was employed by Letchworth Village in Thiells until retiring in 1987.
Doris enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, gardening, and, most of all, being with family and friends.
Doris is survived by her children, Floyd Abrams, Jr., and wife, Dianne, of West Haverstraw; Patricia Stewart of New Paltz; Carol Pollina and husband, Vincent, of New Paltz; Gary Abrams and wife, Joanne, of Hampton, New Hampshire; and Roger Abrams and wife, Kathy, of Stony Point; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A private service was held at Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home in New Paltz. A mass of christian burial was celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in New Paltz.
The rite of committal followed at the Frederick Loescher Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Spring Valley.
