Obituary.
DIED: - Sunday morning, April 20, 1902, at her home in Ness City, Mrs. L.O. Abbey, aged seventy-f our years, ten months and six days.
Julia M. Robinson was born at Batavia, Genesee county, New York, June 14, 1827. She was married May 6, 1856, to L.O. Abbey. Of this union, five children were born, two of whom, Mrs. C.J. Bills and Mrs. W.H. Towner, survive. The first years of their wedded life were spent in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, from which place they removed to LaPorte, Indiana. In 1878, they moved to Minneapolis, Kansas, and from thence in 1886, to Ness City.
The deceased was first a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, but upon coming to this place, she united with the Presbyterian church, remaining in the same until the present time.
Her life was that of a faithful, devoted Christian, being an inspiration to all with whom she came in contact.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at three o'clock, Rev. A.M. Buchanan preaching the discourse and interment was made in the Ness City cemetery.
As a tribute of respect, all the merchants of the city closes their places of business during the services.
