Born and raised in Canton, she also resided in Simpsonville for 30 years. A retired Administrative Assistant with Accord Financial in South Carolina, she was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, a volunteer for the Hospice program, involved with the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed square dancing, above all in South Carolina. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Viertel; parents, John and Mildred Rogers; and a brother, John C. Rogers.
Survived by three daughters, Cindy A. Briggs of Columbus, Ohio, Diane (Dave) Hickman of Simpsonville and Susan K. Holb and fiance, Gerry, of Canton; three grandchildren, Tonia (Tony) Crescenzo, Jennifer (John) Oliver, and David L. Holb Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Reeves, and Brianna and John Oliver; three sisters, Anna (Vince) Dimattio, Jackie (Chuck) Milnac and Kathy Rogers; and sister-in-law, Vivian Rogers.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 13, 2007, at 12:15 in St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church of Simpsonville. Burial will follow at Graceland East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Stark County or Cancer Center of Greenville, SC.
