Mandy L. Vinje, 80, former resident of Kalispell, died Thursday at Escondido, Calif. She was born Feb. 25, 1896 in Marshall County, Minn. On June 16,1913, she married Alfred Vinje, who preceded her in death. She was a cream tester at Equity Supply Co. in Kalispell for 10 years before retiring in 1960. She moved to California in 1963. Survivors include: four sons, Clifford and Alton of Kalispell, Ralph of Escondido and Gordon of Missoula; one daughter, Lorraine of Escondido; one sister, Laura Hartman of South Bend, Ind.; two brothers, Tilden and William Haugen, both of Strandquist, Minn., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The body was cremated and the ashes will be scattered at sea. The family suggests donations be made in Mrs. Vinje's name to the House of Prayer Lutheran Church of Escondido or the Kidney Foundation.
