Davis, Sr. She was honored on Mother's Day 1958 by the Michigan Chronicle as the Mother of the Year. Beloved mother of fourteen children, ten of whom were left to mourn her passing: Robert P., Jr. (Minnie), Edith Davis Gamble (Leonard), Charles E. (Connie), Jesse M., Sr. (Myra), Mary Louise Davis Brown (Eddie), Irean Davis Hicks, John Henry (Lorraine), Jennie Davis Crittendon (Gerald), Shirley Davis Fox and Amy Davis Jackson (Thomas). Sister of Mrs. Leathia Mathis of Robertsville, GA. Also survived by 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several great-nieces and great-nephews. Final arrangements handled by McFall Bros. Funeral Home. Homegoing services were held at the Second Baptist Church of Detroit; interment at Westlawn Cemetery.
