Beloved husband to Edith Mathis, whom he married in 1917, and bought his own home on 12th Street, where fourteen children (ten survived to adulthood) were born and raised. Dear father to Robert (Minnie)Jr., Mrs. Edith (Leonard) Gamble, Charles (Connie), Jesse (Myra), John (Lorraine), Mrs. Mary Lou (Edward) Brown, Mrs. Irene (Edward) Hicks, Mrs. Jennie (Gerald) Crittendon, Shirley Davis and Mrs. Amy Rouselle. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; brother of Samuel, John, Jerry, Charlie, Booker, Mrs. Ola Bizzell and Mrs. Margaret Causey. Final arrangements handled by McFall Bros. Funeral Home, with services held at the Second Baptist Church of Detroit. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery.
