Creta was a graduate of Danville High School (Illinois) and attended Bethel College. She continued to live in Danville, Illinois, until she married Edward H. Arlington on October 1, 1950. She and Ed then resided in Marion, Indiana, and co-owned Arlington Inc., which operated several area businesses. Creta was active in the Elks Country Club, Winter Club, Van Buren American Legion Post 368, and the Voluntary Service Program at the Marion VA Medical Center. She served as past Fifth District President of the American Legion Auxiliary. Creta was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Ladies Tuesday Morning Bible Study.
Creta was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Arlington. Survivors include her two daughters, Kim Arlington-Hoyle of Cape Coral, Florida, and Kay McInnis of Eugene, Oregon; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with Pastor Fredrick Hearn officiating. Burial was made at Grant Memorial Park in Marion.
