She was the daughter of Andrew and Ermilinda (Guerrini) Brunetti. She grew up in Lutie where she received her formal education. She continued her education at Southeastern State College where she received her Bachelor Degree and the University of Oklahoma for her Masters Degree. She began a teaching career that spanned 41 years with tenures at Buffalo Valley for 2 years, Lutie for 12 years and her final 27 years at Panola High School. She married A.C. Mankin on Aug. 17, 1940 in Red Oak and they made their home together in Wilburton. She received numerous awards in teaching including Latimer County Teacher of the Year in 1968, The Panola Faculty Alumni Award in 1976, Honorary Chapter Farmers Award in 1973 and the Apprentice awards from classes in 1957 to 65. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, AARP, Retired State Teachers Association, and Kappa Kappa Iota. She died at her home at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
