Merl "Adelle" (Dunlap) Albert, 89, of Brighton, IL died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, Aug 4, 2015, at home.

She was born in Hillview, IL, on Nov. 21, 1925, daughter of the late Carrel M. and Leona A. (Willmington) Dunlap.

She married Lawrence N. Albert of Brighton, IL on July 2, 1965, in Brighton.

She was a training nurse cadet for W W #2 who received her BSN from Washington University. She also was a nursing instructor at St Joseph's Nursing Academy and at Lewis & Clark College.

She was Chaplain Assistant at Alton Memorial Hospital, Sunday school teacher and a lay speaker at St Paul United Methodist Church in Brighton.

Survivors include children and spouses, Mary Albert Fritz of Brighton, IL; Carroll and Shirley White of Brighton, IL; Colette and Lyn Miller of Brighton, IL;Clinton and Cindy White of Godfrey, IL; Barbara and Jeffrey Kruse of Brighton,IL; Chris and Marienne White of Litchfield, IL; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Jean Zeller of Westcliffe, CO

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Dunlap.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, with Revs. Clinton White and Joyce Anders.

Burial at Shipman Cemetery, Shipman, IL.

Memorials may be to St. Paul United Methodist Church in Brighton.
