Mrs. A. Berney Jeoffroy
Funeral services will be held at a 3 p.m. Mass Thursday in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mrs. A. Berney Jeoffroy, 79, the former Nita Hernandez who died Wednesday at 12:30 a.m. at her residence.
Rev. Gary Schexnayder of St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas will officiate.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Jeoffroy was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette Parish, the daughter of the late Antoine Hernandez and the former Edmonia Arceneaux. She was employed many years ago as a cashier for Heymann's Department Store in the houseware dept. and also a cashier at Abdalla 's in the youth dept.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Billy (Nita) Barrett of Lafayette; one son, James L. Jeoffroy of Lafayette; four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Berney Jeoffory, Sept. 7, 1984.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time Thursday.
Delhomme Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
