He is survived by one sister, Macel Jones and her husband Melvin of Adrian, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Ed & Mary Anna (Goodnight) Butts; one brother, Harvey Butts; one sister, Ernestine Patterson; and one son, Larry Butts.
Graveside services were at the Boston Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
