Kenneth R. "Keno" Jesberger, 84, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2013, surrounded by his family in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.

He was born March 5, 1929, in Sandusky, son of the late Joseph Victor and Clara Elizabeth (Mellein) Jesberger. Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps having served during the Korean War. He owned and operated J & M Roofing for more than 40 years, retiring in 1998.

He enjoyed playing cards and was a fan of Detroit sports, watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions. Ken also volunteered at the Senior Center and delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years.

He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a life member of the VFW.

Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years, Agnes M. (Kochendoerfer) Jesberger, whom he married April 16, 1955; two sons, Michael (Diane) Jesberger Sr., of Sandusky, and Kenneth (Joann) Jesberger, of Dublin, Ohio; two grandchildren, Michael (Colleen) Jesberger Jr. and Elizabeth (Drew) Jacoby, both of Castalia; two great-granddaughters, Grace and Evelyn; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Jody Lynn Jesberger; his parents; two sisters, Florence Wilson and Rosemary Kessler; and three brothers, John, Gerald and Arthur "Art" Jesberger.

At his request cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Eric Mueller will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Erie County Senior Center, 620 E. Water St., Sandusky, OH 44870.
