Rhoden – Gerald “Jerry” Ray Rhoden, Sr., age 76, of Olustee, Florida passed away at his home September 2, 2020. He was born December 11, 1943 in Baker County, Florida to the late Dolice and Hazel Thomas Rhoden. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Baker County and a member of Christian Fellowship Temple Church. He graduated Baker County High School in 1963. Jerry was an active leader of his community, serving as City Commissioner from October 1967 – January 1973 and as the Chief of Police from January 2, 1973 – October 15, 1981. He was also the President of the United Auto Workers Association for many years. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors at Ocean Pond fishing and watching the hummingbirds. Most of all, Jerry enjoyed spending time vacationing with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; and stepson, Dusty Beeler.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandi Rhoden; children, Gerald Ray (Tricia) Rhoden, Jr., Lisa (Wayne) Mobley, Scotty (Tara) Rhoden, Kim (Fred Wayne) Yarborough all of Baker County, FL; brother, Tommy (Tina) Rhoden; sister, Janet Teague; grandchildren, Jerrod Rhoden, Kristen Gruentzel, Dalica Davis, Jud Rhoden, Gabe Powers, Emily Martin, Gracie Mobley, Cade Yarborough, Kat Rhoden, Teagan Rhoden, Rhett Rhoden, Miley Yarborough; 20 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Temple Church with Pastors Timmy Thomas and Vern Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday one hour prior to service at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
