Herbert L. "Lee" Truax, 73, of Hustontown, PA, passed away Sunday, August 30th, at Menno Haven Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, PA.

Lee was born in McConnellsburg, PA on January 20, 1947, a son of the late Ruth E. (Seville) and Charles E. Truax. He was the husband of Brenda K. (Brant) Truax whom he married on October 31, 1972.

Lee served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at JLG Industries in McConnellsburg, PA for thirty-one years before retiring in 2009. Lee was a member of the American Legion Post #561 in McConnellsburg, PA, a charter member of the F.O.E. #4274 in Harrisonville, PA and was a lifetime member of the Hustontown Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic cars and especially loved his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Michelle L. (wife of Michael) Schepis, of Hustontown, PA, sisters Mildred Gelvin, of McConnellsburg, PA, Shirley (wife of Ray) Kohr, of Hustontown, PA, brothers Richard "Dick" (husband of Linda) Truax, Steve Truax and Gary (husband of Joanne) Truax, of all of Hustontown, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aaron, Shane and Sarah Schepsis.

He was preceded in death by sisters Marie Pittman, Alma Hook, Janet Barnett, brothers Charles Truax, Jr. and John N. Truax, Sr.

The family is hosting a time of visitation at the Freedom Worship Center, Fort Littleton, PA on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 3 PM to 8 PM. The family would like to encourage all to attend and use the guidelines for Covid-19 set by the CDC.
