Aldwin Ignatius LaMothe, Sr., entered into eternal rest, on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Ochsner Hospital.

The son of the late Benjamin N. LaMothe, Sr. and the late Rita Lombard LaMothe. Devoted husband of over 31 years to Linda McKay LaMothe. Loving father of Holli L. Storey (Paul), Nadyne L. Lavigne (Raymond), Rhonda L. Parker (Julian) and the late Aldwin I. LaMothe, Jr.

Loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Brother of Benjamin N. LaMothe, Jr. (Barbara), the late Louise LaMothe, Leroy LaMothe and Kenneth LaMothe. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was a retired employee of Witco Chemical Co. and a Bricklayer of Local Union One. Al was also a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. James Major Catholic Church, 3736 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70122. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Rev. Richard N. Maughan, Pastor, Father Joe Palermo, officiating. Interment: Lake Lawn Cemetery, Metairie, La. Arrangements by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home.
