Jane married Stephen Swett (1808-1882) on 9 Feb 1833 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Capt. William Swett and Clarissa Benson.

They had six children:
1) Ellen Augusta (1834-1850)
2) Clarissa Jane (1835-1909, m. George Wesley Stacy)
3) Amanda Benson (b. 1837, died in infancy)
4) Waty Chandler (1838-1919, m. Benjamin Franklin Maplesden)
5) Abby Elizabeth (1842-aft. 1910, m. Stephen Dennis Hatch)
6) Harriet (died in infancy)
