Mr. Bue was a life-long resident of Empire, where he attended Empire grade schools and Georgetown High School. He went on to be a miner and was one of the first miners at the Urad molybdenum mine during WWI. He spent several years working at grocery stores in Empire, Granby and Idaho Springs.
A WWII veteran, Mr. Bue served with the hospital and medical corps units in the European theater. Afterwards he was employed by the county highway system and worked on the maintenance crew, before his employment with the Western Inn.
Predeceased by his parents, Peter Karinussen and Annie Bue, and a sister, Buelah, Carl is survived by his brother, Melvin Bue. Funeral services were held from the Community Church at Empire, with burial at the family plot in the Empire cemetery.
