Mr. Alderman, 68, was owner of the Alderman Flour and Grocery Co. He was born in Georgia and was a member of Atlanta Primitive Baptist Church. He was a past president of the Midway Civic Club.
He died Saturday at his home.
Survivors include his wife, the former Pauline Thomas; a daughter, Mrs. G. O. Tidwell, Avondale Estates; two sons, John J. Alderman Jr., Decatur, and the Rev. Harry B. Alderman, Marietta; four sisters, Mrs. Felix Parrish, Brooklet; Mrs. F. M. Kennedy, Statesboro; Mrs. Roscoe Warnock, Savannah, and Mrs. Frank Walden, East Point, and four brothers, Herman Alderman, Shellman Bluff, Ga.; James Alderman, Brooklet; Harold Alderman, Savannah, and William Alderman, Louisiana.
