His funeral was held Friday, May 23 at Salem Lutheran Church, East Peoria, the Rev John Bates officiated. Burial was in Secor Cemetery.
He was born January 16, 1909, at Washington Township, a son of Christian and Amelia Sprehe Jording. He married Ruby Hasty of September 7, 1929, at Lansing, Michigan. She died in 1970.
Survivors include his mother, Morton; the daughter with whom he made his home, Betty Bennett, Dunlap; four brothers, Paul and Ben, both of El Paso; LeRoy, Sunnyland; and Elmer, Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Mildred Koehler, Morton; and nine grandchildren.
Two sons and two daughters preceded him in death.
He was retired from maintenance work at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in 1971. He was formerly with Spires Elevator near Minonk.
Mr Jording was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, East Peoria.
