Widow of Revolutionary War Officer ELEANOR BRISBIN (1759-1844) was the former widow of John McCrea (b. Lamington, N.J.; d. Lisbon, N.Y., 1811), who was appointed, in 1775, colonel of the Thirteenth Regiment of Infantry, New York Militia, and served until 1781.
After the death of her second husband, Carruth Brisbin, Eleanor was pensioned as the former widow of Col. John McCrea. (Rev. War Pens. App. File No. W20005, National Archives, Washington, D.C.)
