JC Collett, age 83 of Cumberland, passed away at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born August 28, 1936 in Stinnett, he was a retired coal miner with 30 years of employment at US Steel and Arch of Kentucky.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Williams Collett; daughter, Rachel Lewis, granddaughter, Jennifer Cornett; grandson, Roger Lee Cornett; great granddaughter, Molly Collier; father, Lloyd Collett; mother, Verda Simpson; brothers, Magnus, Ern, James and Raleigh; sisters, Nell Combs, Ada Caldwell, Cinda Morgan, Gladys, Jesse, Charlene, Mary and Louise.
JC is survived by his loving family, daughters, Mary (Printus) Collier of Bristol, TN, Doris (Roger) Cornett of Leatherwood, and Brenda Bowen of Harlan; sons, Rick (Tammy) Collett of Cumberland and Randall Collett of Evarts; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law, Callie Creech; his special church family; and a host of other family and friends.
You may visit with the family on Sunday, August 30, 2020, between 11 am and 2 pm in the Chapel of Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Pastor Rod Raleigh officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery, Cumberland, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
