Darrel Berns, 69, of Springfield, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center.
Darrel was born December 12, 1932 the son of Frederick and Eddith Thompson Berns in Pana, IL.
Darrel was employed as a Truck Driver for Decatur Local Union #670. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son: James, one brother and one sister.
He is survived by four sons: David Berns of Decatur, Mark Berns of Thayer, Duane Berns of Virden, Greg Berns of Witt; one daughter: Lisa Broeker of Auburn; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five sisters: Anna Barlow, Rosie Barringer, Norma Wallendorf, Mary Hooper, Ruth Zucco and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation Rites will be accorded, burial will be at a later date in Mound Cemetery in Pana, IL.
