Mignella Rites Wednesday
Michael Mignella, Sr., 78, died at Whipple VA Hospital Sunday.
He was born on December 3, 1895 in Italy and came to the United States as a youth.
He had resided in New Jersey and served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He came to
Prescott in 1935 and worked as a postman and for the Whipple VA Center before opening his
own jewelry store in Prescott.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus, in which he served as
Grand Knight. He was also a past Commander of both the D.A.V. and V.F.W.
Survivors include his widow, Rose, of Prescott; one son, Michael, Jr., of Phoenix; one
daughter, Mrs. Felice Briggs, of Cypress, Calif; three brothers and three sisters, all
out of state.
Rosary will be recited at Ruffner Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Mass of the
Resurrection will be said on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church at 10 a.m. with interment
to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in the family plot.
Friends may call at Ruffner Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
