Alf was born, raised, and educated in Abington. He attended Abington High School before being drafted into the United States Army. Alf married Jane A. McFerran in 1955 and they raised their family in Willow Grove. A dedicated worker, Alf was a fabricator for Asplundh for fifty years. He then worked for the Upper Moreland School District as Director of Maintenance and Transportation for ten years before retiring. Alf was a loyal member of the Willow Grove United Methodist Church and Concordia Lodge No. 67, Free & Accepted Masons. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, guitar and harmonica. He would often be found in his woodshop making houses, school, and churches. His greatest love was attending the sports and activities of his children and grandchildren and spending time with his great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service, military honors rendered by the United States Army, and Masonic service will be held at 12:00 P.M. at Hatboro Cemetery, 36 Fulmor Avenue, Hatboro, PA 19040.
